Larry Rovens
Larry is the Co-Founder, Vice Chairman and Chief Growth & Operating Officer of Value-Security Company, LLC. Before joining Value-Security, Larry founded IMS (Insurance Management Services, Inc.) and built it up over a period of more than 30 years until it was doing over $100,000,000 a year in premium income per year in insurance to over 600,000 customers. IMS’s clients serviced more than 70% of all the mortgages in the United States when Larry sold IMS to WNC, a company led by Dick Riley, now an Advisor to Value-Security (See below). IMS’s clients included or currently include Citi, Bank of America, Chase, Countrywide, GMAC, and HBSC, among many others.
Remarkably, in every single year of its existence under Larry’s leadership, IMS was the number one broker for each of the 13 carriers/providers it represented. And, during that time, IMS was reputed always to be a valued marketing partner and consulting resource in the design, facilitation and evaluation of marketing strategies and campaigns, as well as a respected innovator of new successful marketing techniques. Among the innovations that IMS brought to the mortgage market are: second page statement marketing, free and voluntary AD&D, non-insurance membership products, voice response unit (VRU) marketing, and customer service department (CSR) marketing. During the time Larry ran IMS, IMS completed more than 121 million marketing contacts to approximately 40 million mortgage loan consumer customers.
Also, Larry created the IMS Pebble Beach Conference, which was for many years the only peer group event for the mortgage service sector’s fee income producers. IMS was, before its sale to WNC in 2003, the largest privately held company in the US marketing optional products to mortgage servicers. Larry also founded Group Insurance Administrators in 1978, the largest mortgage insurance broker for Credit Life of Springfield (CLICO). Indeed, eventually Larry’s company sold 70% of CLICO’s mortgage insurance coverage across the United States! Larry started mass marketing insurance to financial institutions in 1975 at General Life of Wisconsin. He began his career at Xerox in Milwaukee where he was a top sales performer. Larry is a founding member of the Association of Financial Institutions (AFIB), a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, was in the US Army Reserve, and is actively involved with the Ronald McDonald House charities.
